(Bandar Seri Begawan, 2nd) Co-hosted by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Brunei and the Taiwan Business Association of Brunei, and co-organized by Chung Hwa Middle School in Brunei and Chung Hwa School Kuala Belait, the 'Taiwan Rose Dusk Band – "Music Loves Life" Concert' made its overseas debut on the evening of May 1, 2026, at the Peace Hall of Chung Hwa Middle School in Brunei.
This concert had sparked much discussion in the local community prior to the event. That night, it attracted over a thousand audience members from all walks of life, including members of the diplomatic corps, students, teachers, parents, the overseas Chinese community, and the business sector. The sincere and genuine musical stories moved the entire audience, with thunderous applause continuing throughout the performance. Even as the show ended, the audience was reluctant to leave. Rose Dusk brought to Brunei a musical feast rich with the meaning of life education.
In his speech, Representative Shiau Sheng-Chung of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Brunei said that Rose Dusk is a one-of-a-kind life education band nurtured within Taiwan's environment of freedom, democracy, and multiculturalism. With the implementation of mutual visa exemption policies between Taiwan and Brunei, bilateral exchanges have become increasingly close. The Representative Office will continue to introduce more activities that showcase Taiwan's vibrant society and cultural soft power to share with all sectors in Brunei.
After the concert, Dr. Su Shih-Yang, leader of Rose Dusk, said in an interview that being able to bring Taiwan's original life education music overseas is both an honor and a responsibility.
He said: "We believe that every story can become a force for the benefit of others. We hope this feeling can continue to ferment in various cities around the world, allowing more people to understand and embrace life through music, and to spread the power of love and hope across the globe."
Rose Dusk is known for its unique life education music style and has won the Ministry of Education's Social Education Contribution Award and Taiwan's Good Deeds and Virtues Award. For many years, the band has conveyed positive values through music and has earned wide recognition from all sectors.
The Representative Office played a bridging role, making Brunei the band's first overseas performance destination. The band specially composed an "Opening Song" for the occasion and added English translations for each piece. This performance marked not only a new milestone in Rose Dusk's career but also a warm new chapter in Taiwan-Brunei exchanges.
On May 2, Rose Dusk will head to Brunei's second largest city, Kuala Belait, for a second performance at Chung Hwa School Kuala Belait.
