(Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th) Wenchong Principal Xu Yuelan stated that time flies and the years are like a song. Today, we gather here with a sense of harvest and joy to bring a perfect conclusion to the 2025 academic year’s learning and life. On behalf of the school, I extend heartfelt gratitude to all the hardworking staff and offer warm congratulations to all students who have studied diligently and developed comprehensively!
She said that this year, we have achieved fruitful results in education, teaching, and campus culture development. Students have shown a passion for knowledge in their exploration, and have repeatedly achieved great results in science and technology competitions, art performances, and sports activities, demonstrating their diverse talents. Wenchong continues to deepen its distinctive educational approach of "trilingual emphasis, fivefold holistic development." While upholding Chinese education, it actively introduces Chinese teaching models and teaching staff, and has successfully hosted cross-national cultural exchange activities such as “Chinese Culture Grand Park”, allowing traditional Chinese culture to flourish anew in Brunei's soil.
Xu Yuelan made these remarks this morning at the Wenchong Peace Hall during the 2025 Wenchong Closing Ceremony and Awards Presentation.
She noted that in the field of science and technology, our school not only won the Secondary School Commendation Award in the Brunei Info-Communication Technology Awards (BICTA2025), but faculty and student representatives were also invited to Guangxi, China to observe Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Competitions, showcasing efforts to connect with the forefront of international education. In cultural arts, traditional clubs such as calligraphy, martial arts, and Chinese orchestra remain active, with student works frequently receiving praise, reflecting the depth of cultural inheritance. In sports achievements, athletes brought honor to the school in inter-school competitions, demonstrating the outstanding results of sports education.
Now, the school’s academic activities have drawn to a close. Looking back at the past year, we have shared fulfilling and exciting campus times together. This is not only a season of harvest, but also a beautiful memory worth cherishing.
Students, holidays are a time for rest, as well as an excellent opportunity to recharge. To ensure everyone has a meaningful and fulfilling break, I hope students can: besides paying attention to safety during the holidays, also plan your studies and continue to improve yourselves—for example, set up a holiday study plan, complete vacation assignments, read more good books, and broaden your horizons.
At the same time, we should spend more time with family, help with household chores, do what we can, maintain regular routines, stick to physical exercise, control time spent using electronic devices, and cultivate healthy interests such as art and sports for harmonious development of body and mind.
