(Kuching, 29th) The Sarawak Graduates Enhancement Training Programme—Workplace Readiness Programme (GETS-WRP) has opened its final intake for March and April this year.
This programme, organized by the Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence Sdn Bhd (SCOPE), aims to enhance the employability of Sarawak graduates by providing key workplace competencies, practical skills, and professional hands-on experience.
SCOPE Chief Executive Officer Joseph Lim stated that the courses in March and April will be the last opportunity for graduates to participate in this GETS-WRP cycle.
He said: "The GETS Workplace Readiness Programme continues to play a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic learning and workplace expectations. We encourage eligible graduates to seize the upcoming intake opportunity and prepare themselves for meaningful employment opportunities."
This programme is one of Sarawak’s key initiatives under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) to continuously strengthen graduates’ employability and talent development.
Building on the overwhelming response and positive results from earlier phases, the upcoming programmes will focus on workplace readiness training, professional communication and work ethics, soft skill development, as well as industry engagement and internship placement opportunities, to help graduates transition into employment as soon as possible.
The programme is open to applications from Sarawakian graduates, with priority given to those currently unemployed. After completing the training phase, participants will be considered, based on availability and suitability, for internship or job placements with partner employers.
The authorities urge interested applicants to apply early, as places for the March and April courses are limited.
