As Long As MCA Achieves a 'Zero Breakthrough' in KL, There Will Be Achievements Nationwide – Wee Ka Siong

(Kuala Lumpur, 8th) MCA President Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong believes that Kuala Lumpur, as a federal territory gathering voters from all states, just needs MCA to achieve a 'zero breakthrough' here. This wave of change is bound to spread, enabling MCA to make 'breakthrough achievements' in states nationwide!

Wee Ka Siong said: “This is Kuala Lumpur, the place at the 'foot of the emperor'. Young people from all over the country come here to make a living. Every little thing here could influence their views, and these topics would then be brought back to their hometowns and further influence the older generation.”

“Therefore, the MCA Federal Territories Liaison Committee must face the greater public directly, because as long as MCA can make a breakthrough in Kuala Lumpur’s constituencies, I believe this atmosphere will definitely drive election momentum nationwide, and thus achieve breakthrough results elsewhere!”

Wee Ka Siong, who is also the MP for Ayer Hitam, urged over a hundred local MCA representatives present at the MCA Federal Territories Liaison Committee Chinese New Year dinner last night (7th in Kuala Lumpur) to go all out in preparing for battle.

He emphasized that as a major center in the country, MCA must secure a foothold in this battleground. Therefore, in the next general election, strong and capable candidates will be fielded, with strategic deployment in the capital city.

Wee Ka Siong also praised the MCA Federal Territories Liaison Committee Chairman and MCA Vice President Datuk Seri Wong Nai Chee for transforming the committee into a mature team that has solved many thorny issues during his three years in office.

“At first, nobody believed the MCA FT Liaison Committee could solve the illegal wooden house problem in Jinjang, but under Wong Nai Chee's team’s mediation, good news was achieved. He is also an active parliamentarian – whenever the Federal Territories Minister is present for Parliamentary Q&A, he responsibly raises and reflects issues. So I give him a score of 100!”

In his subsequent speech, Wong Nai Chee said that since his first year as state chairman, he has been fully planning election strategies, targeting “5+” (five or more) Chinese-majority constituencies in Kuala Lumpur to achieve a “zero breakthrough.”

“Although Kuala Lumpur does not have elections as imminent as in Johor and Melaka, we have never slacked off because votes are not charitable handouts from the electorate. We must have our own stance and principles to win the support of the younger generation. Therefore, in Chinese-majority constituencies in Kuala Lumpur, we will definitely contest!”

Other MCA central leaders present at the dinner included Deputy President Datuk Mah Hang Soon, Vice President Datuk Lau Yat Keong, National Women’s Wing Chairperson Datuk Huang Youfeng. For the Federal Territories Liaison Committee, there were Vice Chair Chan Jun Er, Putrajaya Division Chairman Hsu Sheng Jie, Segambut Division Chairman Datuk Lim See Jin, Seputeh Division Chairman Lee Jia Xing, Cheras Division Chairman Datuk Sim Yong Pheng, Bandar Tun Razak Division Chairman Datuk Lai Kwang Hua and Taman Tun Razak Division Chairman Datuk Khoo Eng Kuan.
