F3 Reunite in a Night Full of Friendship, Ashin Helps Zai Zai Celebrate Vanness’ Birthday

“F FOREVER Stellar City” World Tour Concert lit up Kuala Lumpur’s Unifi Arena for two consecutive nights on the 7th and 8th. This “date” that fans have waited 23 years for has finally come true! Jerry Yan, Vic Chou (Zai Zai), Vanness Wu, and Mayday’s Ashin took to the four-pointed star stage, and as soon as their familiar figures appeared, the 13,000-strong audience erupted into cheers, with waves of youthful memories flooding back.

As soon as F3 and Ashin appeared, the whole crowd screamed. The four performed a series of F4 and Mayday classics, including “Can't Lose You”, “First Time”, “Season of Fireworks”, “Love ING”, “Party Animal”, and more — prompting massive sing-alongs for almost every track. During the encore, they sang “Meteor Rain” together, and the entire arena joined in, as familiar songs and faces transported fans back to the youthful days of “Meteor Garden”.

Jerry Yan shared he felt “like going back to 20 years ago” standing on stage. Vic Chou said some fans were just kids back then but have now grown up, able to choose their own paths, and once again came to the show to see them perform. “The people on stage are always the happiest, because we get to directly feel your love for us. Thank you all!”

The first concert happened to coincide with Vanness Wu’s birthday, so his three close friends seized the opportunity. As it turns out, Vic Chou had pre-recorded a video of himself playing “Happy Birthday” on guitar as a birthday greeting for Vanness. Vanness revealed that Zai Zai couldn’t play guitar at all in the past, but started learning just for him. Unexpectedly, Ashin brought this up onstage, with everyone egging Zai Zai on to play live. Caught off guard, Vic Chou picked up the guitar, tuning it anxiously saying, “I can’t find the scale!” Vanness, Jerry, and Ashin surrounded him, helping look for the right notes, and in the end, Vic successfully played the birthday song, with the entire audience joining in the singing. Vanness, deeply touched, said: “Zai Zai really couldn’t play guitar before, but now he’s learned, and played the birthday song for me. I’m really touched.”

Ashin, always enthusiastic about celebrating Vanness’ birthday, was as excited as a “birthday reminder agent”, bringing up Vanness’ birthday from the very start through various segments, and getting the audience to sing the birthday song several times, leaving Vanness a mix of moved and bashful, finally kneeling on stage in embarrassment. Ashin laughed heartily: “Haha! We want to make this a deeply unforgettable birthday for you!”

During their solo stages, Vanness thrilled the crowd with his signature “deadly triple shake” during “Masterpiece”, twisting and shaking his hips and driving the fans wild with excitement; Vic Chou melted hearts with gentle renditions of “Most Special Existence”, “Loving You in Love”, “Make A Wish”, and more.

After singing “Luxury” and “Insomniac Letter”, Jerry Yan revealed that for the past 20+ shows on tour, he would prepare a different monologue for each stop. But when he arrived in Kuala Lumpur, he suddenly didn’t feel like saying much. “I had prepared a speech in my heart to share with everyone, but today I don’t know why, I just suddenly didn’t want to say anything. Then I suddenly thought of a song, and I think that song is something I’ve wanted to express to you all over the years but never found the right song until now.”

He then chose to express his feelings through song, giving a surprise performance of Michael Wong’s “Fairy Tale” that had the whole audience singing along. Afterwards, Ashin joined him to duet “Aren’t We Lovers”, joking, “You’re biased towards Malaysian fans! Even gave them a bonus song!” Jerry replied with a laugh, “I just feel like singing it here.” The two then improvised another chorus of “Fairy Tale”, sending the crowd into another wave of screams.

F3 and Ashin’s dedication to pampering fans was truly exceptional. Throughout the concert, the four repeatedly approached the VIP area to shake hands, take selfies and photos, make hearts, and even signed autographs — giving fans an up-close and personal experience. Jerry Yan “spoiled” fans the most, stepping offstage during “I Really Really Love You”, holding hands, taking photos, making hearts, and even gently patting fans’ heads. When one female fan burst into tears from excitement, he gave her a hug, sending the excitement level of the arena through the roof.
