(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) The Brunei Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency report of a building fire at 10:32pm recently. The incident occurred in an apartment-style building in Tutong Town.
Upon receiving the report, authorities immediately dispatched 15 firefighters from the Tutong Fire Station and Bukit Beruang Fire Station, along with three fire engines, to the scene to carry out rescue operations. The operation was led by the Acting Deputy Fire Officer.
After arriving at the scene, firefighters found that one of the units on the second floor of the apartment was engulfed in flames. The fire brigade immediately used three water hose jets to put out the fire and managed to control the blaze within about 10 minutes, preventing it from spreading further.
At present, the cause of the fire and the extent of property loss are still under investigation by the relevant authorities.
