(Miri, 18th) The educational welfare of Miri students continues to gain the attention of society. Yayasan Hasanah, in collaboration with GDRN and Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia, yesterday distributed back-to-school aid to a total of 50 students from two Miri primary schools, helping them to face the new academic year with greater confidence and peace of mind.

The beneficiary schools are Sekolah Kebangsaan Miri and Sekolah Kebangsaan Sayed Othman.

This program is now in its second year, continuing the spirit of cooperation among these foundations in caring for the Miri school community and embodying the mission of "working hand in hand to help society." It ensures that students from low-income families receive the basic necessities for learning. Some of the beneficiaries are also children from families affected by previous floods.

The program was led by Puteri Fazriz Noayya, Chief Operating Officer of Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia, together with Rafidah Osman, and carried out smoothly with the assistance of Mohamad Hafiz Rohani, Chairman of the Miri branch of the Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS).

The applications for assistance were submitted by the schools through the Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG), and the beneficiaries were selected based on teacher feedback and observations to ensure the aid accurately reaches those students truly in need.

Mohamad Hafiz Rohani, who is also the Chairman of the Sekolah Kebangsaan Miri Parent-Teacher Association, said that as a parent and a member of the school community, it is not only their responsibility to ensure children attend school, but more importantly, to let them study with confidence, comfort, and their basic needs met. Only when life's necessities are secured can children focus on learning and create a brighter future.

He also expressed gratitude to Yayasan Hasanah, GDRN, and Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia for their ongoing efforts to care for Miri students, and hopes that more community members, private institutions, and NGOs will join hands in future to contribute to the educational welfare of the next generation.
