According to China's Jimu News, quoting an eyewitness and Chinese passenger Jiang Jun (alias), the bus veered off the road and rolled over, resulting in multiple injuries. Jiang himself suffered a back injury, is currently unable to move, and urgently needs assistance.
Photos and videos from the scene provided by Jiang Jun and cited by Jimu News show a white bus overturned in an open area beside the roadbed, with the road embankment behind being very high. The video shows rescue vehicles and personnel handling the situation at the scene. Some injured people are lying on the ground, and some passengers can be seen with significant injuries, including visible bloodstains on their faces.
Jiang Jun posted on social media that on the day of the incident, he was traveling in a tour group in Iceland, returning from Snæfellsnes, when the vehicle overturned and the bus's right-side windows were completely shattered. Helicopters were dispatched on-site to evacuate those who were seriously injured. Jiang said there were multiple Chinese nationals on the bus, and about more than 10 people were urgently sent to hospital after the accident.
According to local media reports, the long-distance bus was carrying 42 tourists, and the incident took place at Seljafjorður on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland, where the vehicle ran off the road. Following the incident, local police dispatched helicopters to transport two injured people to the main hospital, while other injured individuals were taken by ambulance to other medical facilities.
