(Kuching, 8th) A 31-year-old man was involved in an accident yesterday at Kampung Peruan on Lawas Nanga Duma Road. The four-wheel-drive vehicle he was driving was crushed by a drilling machine. He was trapped inside the vehicle and unfortunately passed away.
According to a report released by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, the authorities received a distress call at 4:55 p.m. and arrived at the accident scene, about 8 kilometers away, at 5:03 p.m.
The deceased was identified as Bili Muli. When rescuers arrived, he was still trapped inside a Mitsubishi Triton vehicle. The rescue personnel then used specialized Road Traffic Accident (RTA) rescue equipment to extricate him.
Regrettably, the medical personnel at the scene confirmed that the victim no longer showed any signs of life. His remains have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
