Lijian-1 Y15 Launch Vehicle Completes 'One Rocket, Five Satellites' Mission

Published at Jul 24, 2026 03:38 pm
At 7:33 a.m. on July 24, China used the Lijian-1 Y15 launch vehicle at the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone to successfully send five satellites — Tianyi-48, Gandey-1 01, Xiguang-2 03, Jitian-4A, and Yinglong Fengguang-1 — into space. The satellites smoothly entered their intended orbits, marking the complete success of the launch mission.

According to China News Service, with the success of this launch, the Lijian-1 launch vehicle has officially entered a new phase of regular monthly launches in the second half of the year, establishing a reliable and efficient intensive launch capability.

This mission is the 15th flight of the Lijian-1 launch vehicle. To date, Lijian-1 has successfully sent 110 satellites into space, with a total payload mass exceeding 16 tons. It has cumulatively served over 30 domestic and international customers (including 6 international customers) and has successfully launched over 10 types of satellite application payloads such as low-cost commercial optical remote sensing, quantum communication, space manufacturing, space environment detection, meteorological detection, and in-space computing.

Realizing Multi-Satellite Rideshare in the Same Orbit

In this mission, Lijian-1 provided 'carpool' launch services for 5 customers, relying on mature and stable multi-satellite layouts and precise separation technology to realize multi-satellite rideshare and shared launch capacity in the same orbit.

Tianyi-48 mainly verifies new types of space energy and heat dissipation technologies for a space data center, carries a commercial computing server and a small remote sensing camera, and conducts in-orbit crucial core technology experiments for onboard computing, as well as Earth observation imaging.

Gandey-1 01 is the debut satellite of the LX630 constellation system and is China's first commercial satellite dedicated to space debris monitoring.

Xiguang-2 03 is a triple-band, high-resolution infrared intelligent remote sensing satellite, mainly applied in situation security, emergency response, shipping and aviation, power grid disaster prevention, and refined meteorological operations.

As an intelligent computing satellite, Jitian-4A achieves end-to-end intelligence from design and manufacturing to satellite operations and management. The satellite deploys embodied intelligence models, can autonomously manage its health status, and independently complete mission planning, command generation, and in-orbit data processing.

Yinglong Fengguang-1 satellite features capabilities for vertical atmospheric temperature and humidity profile detection, surface high-temperature target identification and imaging, and surface temperature change monitoring. It can be used for meteorological forecasting, disaster warning, resource and environment monitoring, and new energy power generation power prediction, among other applications.
