Hong Kong star Tony Leung and Carina Lau have been married for many years and are widely regarded as a model couple in the entertainment industry. However, with one being outgoing and the other more reserved, their private interactions have always piqued the public's curiosity. Recently, Carina Lau appeared as a guest on “Milk Tea Sister” Zhang Zetian’s self-produced program, where she rarely opened up about her relationship with husband Tony Leung. She candidly admitted that she had once been dissatisfied for years with Tony’s dislike for socializing and even got angry with him over it. In the end, though, she was deeply touched by his sincerity and unique sense of 'rituality', and gradually learned how to be more tolerant with each other.
Carina Lau explained that Tony Leung is able to be fully himself when he's alone, but as soon as he appears in public, he switches automatically into 'Superstar Tony Leung' mode for work, which is draining for him. As she’s grown older, Carina Lau has learned to respect and appreciate these traits in Tony, and he, in turn, has also changed—now, he even takes the initiative at times to accompany her when she spends time with friends.
Although Tony Leung tends to be reticent at social gatherings, he’s actually a 'words person' at home. Carina Lau revealed that if Tony Leung makes a mistake, he might find it hard to apologize verbally, but will write a long card to say sorry instead. 'There are quite a few of these apology cards, and he’ll list out where he was wrong.' Carina believes that a truly strong person is one who has the courage to apologize—something she finds very moving.
