Communications Minister Fahmi noted that the police have received at least five reports regarding a video of an incomplete national flag pattern shown at a baby products exhibition.
He said that these five reports were all from members of the Unity Government coalition parties, including Pantai Valley PKR Youth Chief Nurul Amirlia who urged the police to investigate the matter under the '1963 Emblems and Names Act' and the '1949 Coat of Arms (Restriction of Display) Act'.
“I have been informed that this incident occurred at a commercial exhibition center where an exhibitor displayed an incomplete version of the Stripes of Glory.”
“After our discussion, our partners at Pantai Valley UMNO went together to report the case to the police early this morning, and we leave it for the police to investigate.”
Fahmi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Pantai Valley, mentioned this during a Hari Raya celebration event in his constituency today.
He stated that if the police find any illegal activities, they will request severe action against the individuals involved.
“Up to now, five reports have been made to the police, three from UMNO and two from PKR.”
On another note, Nurul Amirlia pointed out that she made a police report after receiving the related video.
