(Kuching, 11th) The 2025 Sarawak Inter-State School Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG) competition will be held on August 16, bringing together outstanding youth gymnastic talents from Sarawak and Sabah to present an exciting performance blending art, discipline, and team spirit.
The competition will officially begin at 2pm at the Shaadi Hall of the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Headquarters. The event is organized by the Sarawak Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (SAGGA) in collaboration with the Malaysian Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (MAGGA), with sponsors including Milo and Jerald’s Cookies and Desserts.
A SAGGA spokesperson said that this competition will feature teams from various schools performing required routines in the inter-school (Group B) category, with three age groups: under 10, under 12, and under 18.
“This is also an important platform for Sarawakian children to showcase their talent, hard work and team spirit. Schools from neighboring Sabah will join the invitational category, further deepening the friendship and cooperation within the regional AGG community,” he said.
He added that the MAGGA school program is an important way to discover and nurture new AGG talents in Malaysia.
In Sarawak, the program is thriving, with dedicated instructors, judges, coaches, and five participating schools, cultivating a total of 150 young athletes.
“This solid foundation allows Sarawak's children to continue marching towards national and international AGG arenas. The 2025 Sarawak Inter-State School AGG Competition will proudly showcase their skills, spirit, and journey from the grassroots to success.”
The event will be officiated by Batu Kawah assemblyman Datuk Engineer Lo Khere Chiang, with the closing ceremony scheduled for 4:30pm. This will be the perfect conclusion to a day filled with stunning performances.
