Miri 74-Year-Old Man Lost Control While Patrolling on Motorcycle, Dies in Hospital

(Miri, 28th) A fatal accident occurred at the Vista Perdana residential area in Permyjaya, Miri, where a 74-year-old local man lost control of his motorcycle while performing his patrol duties in the residential area. He was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment but unfortunately passed away the following day.

Miri District Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee bin Abdullah announced in a press release today that the accident happened at about 4 pm on April 26 on the Desa Bahagia road segment. At the time of the incident, the deceased lost control of his motorcycle while performing his routine patrol duties and veered to the left roadside.

The man sustained injuries to the left side of his face and was urgently sent to Miri Hospital for treatment. However, due to the severity of the injuries, he was pronounced dead around 12:15 pm on April 27.

The police are currently investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and urge anyone with information to contact the Traffic Investigation Officer, Inspector Mohd Faizul Bin Ab. Rahim (Phone: 014-8582582 / 085-430479) or visit the nearest police station to provide clues.

Police also remind all road users to always stay focused, adhere to traffic rules, and ensure road safety.
