(Kuching, 24th) The Sarawak Media Sports Carnival (KASUMeS) is not only a leisure platform for media professionals to relax and unwind, but also serves as an important bridge to strengthen the connection between the state’s media and government agencies.
Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) Director Awang Putra Yusri said that this event helps to promote a healthy lifestyle and plays an active role in fostering friendship and cooperation between the media and government.
“Media personnel often face high pressure and challenges while carrying out their journalistic duties, so we too need some leisure time to maintain physical and mental health, stay energized, and better devote ourselves to our work.”
He pointed out that the sports carnival not only helps to relieve work-related stress, but also enhances team spirit and strengthens cohesion among participants.
He made these remarks this morning while attending the opening ceremony of the 2025 Sarawak Media Sports Carnival Southern Zone event at Petra Jaya Sarawak Pickleball Court.
This event was officiated by Sarawak Premier's Department (Corporate Affairs, News & UKAS) Deputy Minister Datuk Abdullah Saidol.
