(Russia, 14th) Russia carried out intensive nighttime firepower strikes against Ukraine, destroying multiple Ukrainian military industrial enterprises. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that the Russian attacks caused large-scale power outages across the country.
According to a Xinhua report, the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on Saturday (December 13), announcing that the Russian military conducted massive airstrikes against Ukraine from late the previous night until the early morning.
The statement noted that the Russian military used land-based and sea-based high-precision weapons, "Kinzhal" hypersonic missiles, and long-range drones to strike multiple Ukrainian military industrial plants and supporting energy facilities, hitting all intended targets.
Zelensky posted on social media that during the attack, Russian forces deployed more than 450 drones and 30 missiles, mainly targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
He said the airstrikes wounded two people and damaged dozens of civilian facilities, resulting in widespread power outages across the country, with numerous households in multiple regions losing electricity.
He accused Russia's actions of being "by no means a move to end the war" but a continued effort to destroy Ukraine.
