The male lead of the Korean drama "How Do You Translate Love?", Kim Seon-ho, was recently reported to be suspected of tax evasion. The method is the same as Cha Eun-woo, who is also with the same company, by using a shell company set up in the name of a family member. On the 4th, Kim Seon-ho's agency, Fantagio, released a statement addressing the recent controversy over alleged tax evasion.
Fantagio stated that Kim Seon-ho established a company in January 2024 for the purpose of pursuing entertainment activities and drama production, and that all activities prior to signing with Fantagio in February 2025 had their settlements processed through that company. After realizing that the operation of this company might cause misunderstandings, Kim Seon-ho has stopped operating the company and has not conducted any business through it for more than a year. Fantagio further emphasized: "Since February 2025, after signing an exclusive contract with Kim Seon-ho, all settlement payments have been made directly to him, and there is no longer any connection to the company Kim Seon-ho established."
Kim Seon-ho is currently in the process of closing down the company, and has returned the company credit card, paid back salaries given to family members, as well as company vehicles. They also added, "For the payments previously received via this company, not only has the company tax been paid, but the additional personal income tax has also been settled." Finally, Fantagio stated: "Kim Seon-ho deeply regrets and apologizes for setting up and maintaining this company for more than a year without fully understanding its operation." They apologized for the confusion and concern caused to the public, and promised to manage the overall activities of their artists more carefully in the future.
