American sitcom 'Friends' star Matthew Perry died of a drug overdose two years ago. Today, a Los Angeles court sentenced involved doctor Plasencia to two years and six months in prison.
44-year-old Plasencia (Salvador Plasencia) broke down in tears in court today, stating, 'I was supposed to protect him.' In July, he pled guilty before the judge, admitting to supplying the anesthetic drug ketamine to Matthew Perry.
In October 2023, Matthew Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home at the age of 54. According to the coroner’s autopsy report, the cause of death was 'acute effects of ketamine.' There were five people prosecuted in this case, and Plasencia is the first to be sentenced.
