(Bandar Seri Begawan, 13th) The Sultan of Brunei attended the 2026 Charity Polo Championship and later presided over the award ceremony.
Attending the tournament held at the Royal Brunei Polo Club were members of the royal family, including His Majesty the Sultan's children and grandchildren, Foreign Minister Prince Mateen and Princess Anisha Rosnah, Prince Wakeel, among others.
This charity polo championship featured four teams competing for the title: “The Purr-Fects,” “Lucky Hoofs,” “Flying Feathers,” and “The Un-bear-ables.” The final was contested between “The Purr-Fects” and “Lucky Hoofs.”
Prince Mateen and Azemah Ni'matul represented “The Purr-Fects” in the final.
In the championship match, “The Purr-Fects” led by Prince Mateen defeated the “Lucky Hoofs” team with a score of 5.5 to 2. The match consisted of four chukkas.
The “Lucky Hoofs” team finished as runner-up, “The Un-bear-ables” took third place, and “Flying Feathers” came in fourth.
The charity polo championship was co-organized by the Brunei Polo Team, the Royal Brunei Polo Association, and the YSHHB Centre, and in addition to the tournament, a fair was held with various fun games, attracting many visitors to participate. The event began at 12 noon.
Additionally, members of the YSHHB Centre delivered a wonderful performance for visitors. During the championship, ticket holders also had the chance to participate in a lucky draw to win a variety of exquisite prizes provided by the organizers.
All proceeds from the 2026 Charity Polo Championship will be donated to the YSHHB Centre to help improve the daily lives of people with disabilities.
