According to monitoring, the purchase prices of japonica rice, soybeans, and corn in Northeast China are up about 2%, 5%, and 10% year-on-year, respectively. High-quality japonica rice and high-protein soybeans are favored by the market, with prices per catty reaching as high as 1.5 yuan (RMB, the same below) and over 2.3 yuan respectively, with farmers’ grain-growing income having increased significantly compared to last year.
As New Year's Day 2026 and the Spring Festival approach, the grain market will become even more active in terms of buying and selling. The National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration stated that it will continue to focus on the procurement of autumn grain, guide all regions and relevant enterprises to further intensify their purchasing efforts to ensure every grain is stored, guide farmers to sell their grain in a timely and orderly manner, so that a good harvest can translate into good income. At the same time, it will guide localities to strengthen grain supply scheduling to ensure ample supply and stable prices of grain and oil during the holidays.
