In Coordination with the Prophet’s Birthday, Multiple Departments Launch Joint Inspections

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 4th) The Royal Brunei Police Force (RPF), in collaboration with enforcement agencies, conducted a comprehensive inspection operation involving 197 officers and personnel from Brunei-Muara Police District, the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit (HTU), Royal Customs Department (JKED), Narcotics Control Bureau (BKN), Immigration and National Registration Department (JIPK), Internal Security Department (KDN), Department of Labour, Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department (JBBSB), the Department of Electrical Services (JPE), and the Religious Enforcement Division (BPU).
This operation was led by Acting Assistant Commander of Operations, Brunei-Muara Police District Pengiran Kairulmin, and involved officers and personnel from the Royal Brunei Police Force and related agencies.
The operation focused on multiple commercial buildings around Bandar Seri Begawan and also inspected apartments in the areas of Jalan McArthur, Jalan Sultan, Jalan Roberts, and Jalan Berangan.
Additionally, a roadblock was set up on a major road in the capital. The results of the operation were as follows:
Traffic police inspected 186 vehicles; two drivers were penalized for not having valid driving licenses and four drivers were given warnings.
Customs Department: Under Section 146(1)(d) of the Excise Order 2006, four individuals were arrested for possessing alcohol and cigarettes.
Narcotics Control Bureau: One man was arrested for violating the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Department of Labour: A total of 46 employees from 30 companies were interviewed, and several employers were found to have breached the Employment Order 2009.
Immigration and National Registration Department: Two individuals were found to have contravened the Immigration Act.
Religious Department: A local Muslim man and woman were suspected of cohabiting in a rented room.
This joint operation is a proactive step by the authorities to strengthen team spirit and ensure compliance with national laws. It also aims to curb any criminal activities, especially in conjunction with the upcoming Maulidur Rasul procession activities set for September 6, 2025.
