The fire disaster at Hong Kong’s Tai Po Wang Fuk Court has been devastating, with donations from all walks of life pouring in. Media outlets have compiled the donation amounts from the entertainment industry, and today’s most notable is Nicholas Tse, who in recent years has made successful forays into the culinary industry. Through his company "Chef Nic Holdings" in collaboration with MGM, they donated HKD 5 million (about MYR 2.65 million) under the name of the 'MGM Chef Nic Rock & Food Festival,' the amount second only to the Han Hong Foundation. The 'MGM Chef Nic Rock & Food Festival 2025,' scheduled for the 29th and 30th, will also adjust the event atmosphere, combining music and food to unite people, conveying comfort and positive energy.
Korea’s four major entertainment agencies — HYBE, SM, JYP, and YG Entertainment — all showed their kindness, with HYBE pooling six Asia-Pacific labels together for a total donation of KRW 500 million (about MYR 2.65 million), the largest sum. JYP Entertainment, the company of Tzuyu Chou, also donated HKD 2 million (about MYR 1.06 million).
Well-known for his philanthropy, Japanese star YOSHIKI, after seeing the news of the Hong Kong fire, wrote an emotional post, "My heart hurts, I can't just stand by," and generously donated USD 100,000 (about MYR 412,000), making him the first Japanese star to donate. In the sensitive period of China-Japan relations, his commitment to doing what is right and to cross-border charity has been widely praised.
Taiwanese representatives Mayday and their management company Believe Music have also generously donated HKD 2 million (about MYR 1.06 million) to assist victims of the Hong Kong fire, giving back to the Hong Kong fans who have always supported them.
