(Bandar Seri Begawan, 6th) The Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau Legion of Mary Exchange Meeting was recently held successfully in Taichung, drawing 470 legionaries from 42 groups who gathered in a lively atmosphere. At the farewell evening, everyone sang and danced, bringing the event to a perfect close.
This year’s exchange meeting, themed “Hail, Full of Grace! The Lord is with you!”, lasted for three days. The organizers arranged 12 buses to transport attendees and scheduled sightseeing activities, while also arranging accommodations at three Talmud hotels in Taichung.
During the exchange, the program included various visits such as the Taichung City Hall, Fengjia Night Market, Sun Moon Lake, Puli Winery, Our Lady of Fatima Church, and the Loreto House of Our Lady, among other famous attractions.
The closing Mass was celebrated by Bishop Su Yaowen, with over twenty spiritual directors and priests from both local and overseas Legion of Mary branches concelebrating.
During the Mass, Bishop Su remarked that Taichung has accumulated rich experience in organizing the exchange and hopes that it won’t take another 22 years before Taiwan can host it again.
At the regional delegates’ meeting on May 30, representatives unanimously voted for Kuching to host the 32nd Legion of Mary Exchange in 2027, with the Glory of Mary Curia and the Mary of all Graces Curia co-organizing the event.
At the closing banquet, Legion of Mary representatives from various regions presented vibrant singing and dancing performances, creating a lively and extraordinary atmosphere. Under the performance “Moon and Sun” led by Father Kong Chonghuan, the evening reached its climax.
Near the end of the banquet, Taichung spiritual director Father Huang Mingqiang officially announced that the 2027 Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Taiwan Chinese Legion of Mary Exchange Meeting will be held in Kuching, Sarawak. The meeting flag was handed over to the incoming host, Kuching Glory of Mary Curia Vice President and Mary of all Graces Curia President Ou Yuehao, symbolizing the official transfer of hosting rights.
