(Seria, 5th) Organized by Chung Ching Middle School and hosted by the Rainbow Basketball Club, the "2025 Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament" successfully concluded recently.
The event was divided into primary, secondary, and open categories (including a women's group), attracting over 25 teams, exceeding the organizers' expectations. This was the first basketball event hosted by the school since the completion of its basketball court, providing a platform for local basketball enthusiasts to compete and interact.
As one of the few multi-category basketball events in the Belait area in recent years, it received an enthusiastic response: 4 teams in the primary category, 11 teams in the secondary category, and 10 teams in the open category competed fiercely. The competition ran from 8:20 a.m. to 7:20 p.m., with a vibrant atmosphere on site. Representatives from the sponsors, Unik and S.Y.T.C SDN BHD, stated: "Seeing the spirit of these young players, we are convinced that this investment is worthwhile."
After a day of battles, the winning teams from each category emerged:
Primary category: Chung Ching Middle School in Seria swept the champion (Air Ballers) and fourth place (Black Eagles), with Chen Yongfa named best player. Un4gettable from Brunei Chung Hwa Middle School won second place, while third place went to CHMS Juniors from Kuala Belait Chung Hwa Middle School.
Secondary category: Cloud 8A and Cloud 8B from Kuala Belait Chung Hwa Middle School captured the champion and fourth place. Seria Chung Ching Middle School's Serikandi won second place, while Hunters from Brunei Chung Hwa Middle School took third, with team member Chian Kuan Lian winning the best player award.
Open category: Men's champion went to Hisense, and women's champion went to AceClones, both showcasing high levels of amateur basketball. The men's runner-up was KT Photography, and the women's runner-up was HoopX. Third place in the men's category went to Lezzet Eatery, and in the women's category, it went to Rising Stars.
During the opening ceremony, the school emphasized: "This event is the 'grand opening' of the school's new basketball court, and similar events will continue to be held in the future to help improve the basketball standard in Belait."
