(Bandar Seri Begawan, 4th) According to a press release from the Brunei Prime Minister's Office, a high-level delegation from China's Ministry of Public Security has just concluded their first official visit to Brunei's security and law enforcement agencies.
At the invitation of the Brunei Prime Minister's Office, the delegation led by Dai Binbin, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province, Secretary of the Provincial Public Security Department's Party Committee, and Director of the Public Security Department, visited Brunei from March 27 to 30, 2025.
During the visit, Dai Binbin paid a courtesy call on Brunei's Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Datuk Sofian. During their talks, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation in the field of public safety, especially in common concerns such as cybercrime, drug abuse, and smuggling, and explored opportunities for further cooperation.
Additionally, His Excellency Dai Binbin also called on Acting Director of the Royal Brunei Police Force, Datuk Sulaiman. During the discussions, senior officials of the Royal Brunei Police Force and officials from the Chinese Ministry of Public Security had an in-depth exchange on crime trends and issues of concern to the security and law enforcement agencies of both countries.
The delegation later visited the Royal Brunei Police Museum and conducted an inspection at the Al-Islah Rehabilitation Center in Kampong Kupang, Tutong District.
At the Al-Islah Rehabilitation Center, Dai Binbin and senior officials from China's Ministry of Public Security held talks with the Director of Brunei's Narcotics Control Bureau. Both sides explored opportunities for cooperation in combating drug smuggling and illegal drug abuse, aiming to strengthen law enforcement collaboration and jointly address the issue of drug-related crime.
This visit further consolidated the cooperative relationship between Brunei and China in the field of public safety, laying a solid foundation for future law enforcement cooperation.
