(Tehran, 9th) Iran has put forward six demands to the United States, insisting that the US correct its own actions, otherwise the Strait of Hormuz will not be opened.
According to Iran's official news agency, Mohammad Baqer Zulqader, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated on Saturday (August 8) that the US must stop threatening Iran; stop insulting Iran's sacred and inviolable symbols; stop taking military action against Iran and its allies in Lebanon, the Palestinian territories, Yemen, and Iraq, and lift the maritime blockade.
Other demands include: the withdrawal of US naval and air forces from Iran, compensation for damages caused by two wars, lifting sanctions on Iran, and the unconditional release of Iran's frozen assets.
US Vice President Vance told Fox News earlier in the day that some progress has been made in recent US-Iran talks, but Tehran has yet to meet all the Trump administration’s demands.
He also stated that Iranian officials have informed the US that Tehran has no plans to levy transit fees for the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian Foreign Minister Aragchi stated that Iran and Oman are close to reaching an agreement, but this does not mean the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened, "The opening of the strait still depends on other conditions, including the US making reparations for violating the memorandum of understanding."
