Retirement and Farewell Banquet at Luodong Fire and Rescue Station – Chief Commends Team Members’ Selfless Dedication

(Miri, 24th) Luodong Fire and Rescue Station held a “Retirement and Farewell Banquet” last night to commend and thank retired and transferred firefighters, as well as to celebrate the birthdays of team members born from January to August this year.
 Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism and Piasau State Assemblyman Dato Sebastian Ting was also invited to attend, joining firefighters and community leaders in the grand celebration, with a warm and lively atmosphere.
 In his speech, Luodong Fire and Rescue Station Chief Henry Juga pointed out that this banquet is an annual tradition of the station, aiming to thank and acknowledge the selfless dedication and hard work of the team members.
 He said that the Luodong Fire and Rescue Station currently has a total of 24 team members, who have been actively engaged over the past 8 months in firefighting operations, community seminars, fire prevention publicity, the junior fire cadet corps, and community fire safety efforts, all yielding significant results.
 “You are like tireless warriors, sacrificing your personal time and energy to safeguard the safety of residents in Miri and the surrounding areas—this is truly admirable.”

Henry emphasized that the contributions of retired or transferred team members will not be forgotten, and their spirit and example will continue to inspire their colleagues who remain on the job.
He encouraged current team members to continue improving the quality of team services with unity, professionalism, and efficiency, ensuring that the fire and rescue station continues to earn the community’s trust.
He said that the Luodong Fire and Rescue Station is not just a workplace, but a “second home” for all its members.
Therefore, he also welcomed new team members to offer opinions and constructive suggestions to promote the station’s development together.
In addition, he took the opportunity to request funding from Deputy Minister Sebastian Ting present at the event, to help resolve the station’s club’s financial shortfall, thereby supporting internal activities and strengthening ties with the community.
He stated that the selfless dedication and sacrifice of the firefighters is a safeguard for the safety of society. Their spirit deserves to be remembered and cherished by everyone.
