(Kuching, 25th) – A 6-year-old Chinese boy with autism has gone missing in the vicinity of Jalan Kim Chu Sin, Batu Kawa, Kuching, on the afternoon of the 24th of this month. Currently, the police, fire and rescue department, and family members are making every effort to carry out a search operation.
It is understood that the missing boy is named Enrique Bong Kai Cen. He was last seen by his family at around 4:15pm that afternoon, wearing a white collarless T-shirt (with a sun logo on the front), brown shorts, and slippers.
After realizing the child was missing, the family immediately started searching and found his discarded shoes near their home. One shoe was about 10 meters away, while the other was found about 30 meters away near the riverbank of Kampung Kim Chu Sin.
Fearing that the child might have headed toward the river or nearby farmland, the family promptly called the police for help. After receiving the call at 7:19pm, the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Department immediately sent 7 personnel, dispatched an FRT vehicle and an EMRS vehicle to the scene, and joined the police and villagers in the search. The police also deployed police dogs and drone units to assist in the operation.
Reportedly, the search and rescue teams split up to conduct their search, thoroughly investigating the areas along the river, the woods, and nearby farmland; meanwhile, villagers helped to observe and search at the Batu Kawa main river jetty. However, as of now, there are still no further developments. The Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Department search and rescue team continued searching in farmland on the other side. As of 10pm tonight, it had started to rain at the scene.
The police urge that if any members of the public spot traces of the missing child, please contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Alex Daniel Jita of Padawan Police District Criminal Investigation Unit (011-18816338), or call the Padawan District Operation Room (082-862233); information can also be provided at the nearest police station.
