(Kota Bharu, 17th) Teaching positions have become increasingly challenging in the digital age. Teachers not only face teaching and administrative duties but also have to endure pressure from social media and various hot topics that may impact the emotional and mental health of the teaching community.
Kelantan Social Welfare Department Director Che Samsu Zuki said that the development of technology and social media has made every issue related to schools a focal point for public attention, which in turn causes teachers to be more easily subjected to psychological pressure.
He told Bernama recently that this situation calls for more comprehensive emotional and psychological support to help teachers adapt to the current challenges.

"In addition to teaching, teachers also have to handle various tasks, including student discipline, administrative matters, as well as public opinion in the digital world."
Che Samsu Zuki said that although teacher-related matters fall under the jurisdiction of the Education Ministry, the Welfare Department also provides assistance in the welfare and mental health of education workers.
He pointed out that the Welfare Department provides psychological support and counseling services through counselors and assistant counselors in each district, in order to assist those facing emotional stress, trauma, and anxiety.
"If any teacher needs emotional support or assistance, the Social Welfare Department is ready to help through counseling services.

"We also cooperate with schools and the Ministry of Education to help students facing social or emotional problems, so as to alleviate the pressure on teachers."
Che Samsu Zuki believes that society needs a better understanding of the challenges facing today’s teachers, and should not make hasty criticisms about issues widely spread on social media before knowing the true circumstances.
"Education workers are also ordinary people who need emotional support and space, so they can continue to fulfill their mission of educating the next generation."
