Nationwide Gathering of 5,000 in Johor – Pakatan Harapan Congress Opens

(Johor, 17th) The Pakatan Harapan (PH) Delegates’ Congress opened on Sunday (May 17) morning at the Johor International Convention Centre, bringing together around 5,000 representatives and leaders from across the country, with a key focus on mobilizing campaign machinery in preparation for the upcoming state elections and the 16th General Election.

Prime Minister and PH Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will deliver a keynote address in the afternoon and officiate the opening ceremony.

This one-day congress, themed “Determination for Progress, People’s Hope”, began at 8:30am with an agenda that includes networking sessions among PH’s affiliate organizations and speeches by state-level PH chairpersons.

Top PH leaders will attend the Presidential Council session at 1:30pm.

Leaders expected to deliver speeches include Democratic Action Party Secretary-General Loke Siew Fook, National Trust Party (Amanah) President Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, and PH Secretary-General Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution.

Anwar will deliver his keynote speech at 3:35pm, focusing on PH’s strategic direction, especially in responding to the impending Johor and Melaka state elections, as well as strengthening unity government cooperation ahead of the 16th General Election.

In addition to a series of political speeches, this congress will also hold a symbolic ceremony for handing over campaign machinery equipment, signifying that grassroots members are entering a state of preparedness.

On Sunday morning (17th), the Johor International Convention Centre was buzzing with a lively atmosphere as delegates from all parties, dressed in their respective party uniforms, showcased the spirit of unity between PH’s component parties—PKR, DAP, and Amanah.
