BTS Sings for Mexican President – 50,000 People Flood Plaza in Mind-Blowing Scene

South Korean group BTS held three consecutive concerts in Mexico on May 7th, 9th, and 10th, with tickets selling out instantly upon release. Before the official start of the concerts, the seven members of BTS were personally received by Mexican female president Claudia Sheinbaum at the presidential palace, where they had a meeting of about 40 minutes. Afterward, they made a rare appearance on the balcony of the National Palace of Mexico, the seat of the federal administration, causing a stir among the crowd.

In order to catch a glimpse of their idols, a large number of ARMYs (nickname for BTS’s fans) gathered at Constitution Plaza outside the National Palace. According to local media estimates, nearly 50,000 people crowded the area, creating an extremely magnificent scene, making ARMYs a "real army"—as the English word also means military force.

Many fans had been waiting for a long time, and when their idols appeared, they waved their lightsticks and placards, constantly screaming. The seven members greeted them warmly with waves.

President Sheinbaum posted a group photo with BTS members on social media, showing off a brand new album personally given to her by the group, and wrote that she was delighted to welcome the idols most loved by the young generation of Mexico.

She even revealed that during the meeting she enthusiastically invited the seven to return: “You must come again next year!”
