(Bandar Seri Begawan, 19th) A total of 18 young women aged between 18 and 30 participated in the Gua Sha Facial Workshop jointly organized by the Brunei Youth and Sports Bureau (JBS) and the Brunei-Muara District Branch (DBM).
This workshop was part of the ‘Action Day’ event and was facilitated by the Tutong Youth Centre.
The one-day workshop was held at the Youth Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan, demonstrating the instructors’ commitment to continually advancing youth development programs. These programs aim to enhance young people’s knowledge, practical skills, self-confidence, and encourage them to tackle global challenges, including those in small businesses, more creatively.
The Head of the Tutong Youth Centre, Asmah, stated that “Gua Sha” is a traditional Chinese medical technique used to promote blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, and improve facial skin health.

She said that within the context of modern beauty concepts, this technique helps to enhance facial radiance, promote blood circulation, and naturally restore skin elasticity.
She stated: “Through this workshop, participants are exposed to safe and ethical holistic beauty therapies, especially Gua Sha techniques, which support the goal of youth empowerment, cultivate skilled, high-quality, and competitive talents, and even create space for young people to build self-confidence, explore career development in the beauty industry, and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.”
With the successful hosting of the workshop, the organizers hope that more youth will participate in or join the beauty industry and innovate in this rapidly developing sector.
This workshop emphasizes the importance of comprehensive, high-impact youth development, aligning with the vision of nurturing a future generation of skilled, competitive, and innovative youth in the industry.
