Japanese media reported that two Chinese nationals were seriously injured after being attacked with metal pipes by four strangers near Kanda Station on the Tokyo subway early on the 31st, and the suspects are still at large.
According to Jiji Press, the Manseibashi Police Station in Tokyo received a report at 9:05 a.m. on Thursday. The police stated that the two Chinese men were walking on a street in Chiyoda Ward when they were suddenly attacked by four men wielding metal pipes, resulting in severe head wounds and serious injuries.
According to the report, after committing the assault, the four suspects fled towards Akihabara subway station and then drove away from the scene in a car with Kansai plates. The police are now making all-out efforts to track down the whereabouts of the four suspects.
The police noted that the four suspects are in their 20s, wearing hoodies and work uniforms. The two victims said they did not know the attackers, and the assailants did not demand any money from them. Eyewitnesses reported hearing the sound of metal striking and screams.
