The Macau Judiciary Police announced on the 31st that on the 30th they had arrested a 68-year-old local man with the surname Au, stating that there is strong evidence indicating that he had long-term collusion with anti-China and hostile organizations, inciting hatred against the Central People’s Government, undermining elections in the Macau SAR, and seriously endangering national security, in violation of Article 13 of the "National Security Law." It is understood that the arrested individual is Au Kam San, a former directly elected member of Macau’s Legislative Assembly from the pro-democracy camp. Some Macau media reported that on the morning of the 31st, Au Kam San was transferred to the Public Prosecution Office, with his wife also present and listed as a witness.

According to a report by Bauhinia News, the Macau Judiciary Police stated that after a long-term investigation and evidence gathering, the national security enforcement agency successfully identified a 68-year-old Macau resident surnamed Au in recent days, and on the afternoon of the 30th, brought him from his residence in the central district back to the police station for investigation.

The Judiciary Police indicated that the case shows, starting from 2022, someone is suspected of colluding with an overseas anti-China organization, providing a large amount of false and inciteful information to the organization, which was then continuously displayed publicly overseas and online. After Macau’s "National Security Law" came into effect in 2023, the organization continued to use the relevant information, and is also suspected of having long-term contact with multiple overseas anti-China entities, repeatedly providing false information about Macau.

The Judiciary Police stated there is strong evidence indicating the suspect has long colluded with foreign hostile forces, through mutual collaboration, assisting others to collect or openly spread false and obviously distorted information and other means, inciting others to hate the Central People’s Government, facilitating hostile actions by anti-China forces against the People’s Republic of China and its Macau Special Administrative Region, and undermining elections in the Macau SAR, thus seriously endangering national security.

On the 31st, the Judiciary Police transferred the suspect to the Public Prosecution Office for investigation on suspicion of violating Article 13 of the "National Security Law" – “Establishing Contact with Organizations, Groups, or Individuals Outside the Macau Special Administrative Region to Commit Acts Endangering National Security.”
