(Jakarta, 18th) The Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) and the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) have reached an agreement to strengthen cooperation to consolidate Indonesia's research and higher education ecosystem.
This cooperation was officially launched with the signing of two cooperation agreements on May 16, 2025, involving funding support from the Higher Education Sustainability Fund (DAPT) and the Research Sustainability Fund (DAPL).
"I am very grateful and proud of the excellent cooperation between the LPDP and the Kemdiktisaintek team. We strive to support President Prabowo's 'Eight Visions' (AstaCita), particularly in the field of talent and technology development," Deputy Minister Stella Christie stated in a statement in Jakarta.
Stella emphasized that the national budget should be used efficiently for the development of science and technology in universities and research centers across the country. She noted that this cooperation will strengthen national priority projects through a research and innovation funding model, such as food security, energy security, and industrial downstreaming.
"With these funds, we can accelerate the implementation of the 'Impact Campus Program' (Program Kampus Berdampak) and develop comprehensive research strategies to promote Indonesia's future development," she added.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Togar M. Simatupang, explained that the two collaborations cover the DAPT project, with a total budget allocation of 9.29 trillion Indonesian rupiahs (approximately 280 million USD), for 14 new projects, to enhance the higher education ecosystem and improve global university rankings.
In addition, the DAPL project has a total budget close to 10 trillion Indonesian rupiahs (approximately 300 million USD) to support the research development of the fourth-generation university (University 4.0).
