After undergoing imaging examination at a hospital, a patient discovered that there were swear words in the doctor’s report. He uploaded the report to social media, with the caption: “It’s not right to curse people in the examination report.” Afterwards, the hospital and the doctor sincerely apologized. Netizens speculated that the doctor might have intended to type “实体密度” (entity density), but only typed the initials “STMD” in Pinyin, which ended up being automatically converted by the computer into the swear phrase “是他X的.”
According to a report by Jimu News, a 36-year-old male patient recently visited Xinmin City People’s Hospital for imaging, and found swear words in the report.
According to the report he uploaded, one section reads, “In the thymus area, there can be seen 是他X的 and small nodule-like shadows.”
The video was captioned, “Xinmin City People’s Hospital, it’s not right to curse people in the examination report.”
After the video was posted, it stirred hot discussions. Some people commented, wondering why there would be swear words in the report, while others speculated that the doctor probably intended to type “实体密度” (entity density) using the initials, and the computer automatically output the swear word — this is understandable and forgivable.
In response to the incident, Xinmin City People’s Hospital has given criticism and education to Doctor Shen and circulated a notice hospital-wide, determined to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The doctor involved also apologized, saying: “I’m 60 years old this year, my eyes aren’t good. I’m really sorry, I’ll correct the report immediately.”
Later, reporters contacted Xinmin City People’s Hospital. Staff from the relevant department said the hospital had already gotten in touch with the patient and they reached a settlement. The video has also been taken down.
