(China, 25th) The world’s tallest bridge, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, will open to traffic on September 28 in Guizhou Province, China.
According to CCTV News, the Guizhou provincial government held a press conference on the 24th.
The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is a key controlling project of the Liuzhi to Anlong Expressway in Guizhou. It has a total length of 2,890 meters, a main span of 1,420 meters, and a height of 625 meters from the bridge deck to the water surface. The main span is the largest among mountain area bridges in the world, and the height is the highest for any bridge globally, earning it the title of “world’s number one” both horizontally and vertically.
Construction began in early 2022, utilizing the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System to assist with the build. During the construction process, high-tech methods such as drones, BIM modeling, intelligent monitoring, and ultra-high strength materials were applied.
