(Miri, 27th) Organized by Healthy Strides Malaysia and supported by the SOP Foundation, the “SOP Healthy Strides Run 2025” was grandly held this morning at Miri Coastal Park, attracting over 300 running enthusiasts to promote the spirit of unity, inclusivity, and diversity.

The event kicked off with a lively Zumba warm-up session, creating a vibrant atmosphere with enthusiastic participation from all ages. Following this, the race was officially started by SOP Foundation trustee Eric Kiu Kwong Seng and trainees of Healthy Strides Malaysia, symbolizing a powerful and inclusive beginning.

This year's event theme is “Stride for Inclusion, Stride for All,” with a special highlight being the 100-meter special run. Thirty children and trainees with disabilities from Healthy Strides Malaysia participated, with the audience cheering and applauding each participant, fully embodying the belief that “everyone can reach the finish line.”

The event raised a total of MYR 31,895 through registration fees and sponsorships, which was matched by the SOP Foundation 'ringgit for ringgit,' bringing the total amount to MYR 63,790. The funds will be used to expand Healthy Strides Malaysia's rehabilitation and inclusive outreach programmes, benefiting more people in need.

Eric Kiu Kwong Seng, who is also the Chief Operating Officer of Sarawak Oil Palms, remarked that the community showed strong support and participation today. “It’s not just a race, but a meaningful journey of opening hearts, breaking barriers, and moving forward together.”

The event also featured a competition segment, with awards presented to the top ten male and female winners to recognize their perseverance and outstanding sportsmanship.

The successful organization of the event is credited to the diligent preparation by the Healthy Strides Malaysia organizing team, as well as technical support from the Bulatan Park Runners Club Miri. It also received generous sponsorships from various units, including Jong Seng Co., BD Industries Co., Computlink Security Solutions Co., Mastika Trading Company, Topsonic Electrical Co., Oil Town Signcraft (Miri), Terre Enterprise Co., KP Chieng Construction, and Tung Fang Motors Co.

With the enthusiastic response and support from all sectors of the community, the “SOP Healthy Strides Run 2025” has successfully laid the foundation for a meaningful annual tradition in Miri City, continuing to promote the concepts of inclusion, health, and hope in the future.
