Community Environment Cleanliness and Beautification Requires Joint Maintenance by Residents

(Miri, 27th) The Deputy Minister of Tourism Sarawak, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, stated that the cleanliness and beautification of the community environment not only rely on the government's efforts but also depend on the joint efforts and maintenance by the residents.

He was invited to attend a mass cleanup activity organized by the Kampung Perpaduan Committee and Kampung Perpaduan Residents Committee (KRT) today, where he noted that Kampung Perpaduan is a shared home for everyone. Therefore, every resident has a responsibility to participate in care and maintenance work. Although some infrastructure repairs fall under the government's jurisdiction and will be handled according to the law, maintaining the overall environment still relies on the active participation and cooperation of residents.

“I especially thank the Kampung Perpaduan Committee and KRT for inviting me to participate in this significant mass cleanup activity today. I also thank the residents for taking time out of their precious weekend to contribute to our home.”

Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew pointed out that the unity spirit displayed by the residents is admirable, which not only enhances the community environment but also strengthens the connection and sense of belonging among neighbors.

He also thanked the residents for actively reflecting various livelihood issues during the activity and promised to compile them and report them to the municipal council for prompt handling and improvement.
