(Seria, 14th) The Brunei karate delegation, consisting of 11 members, has returned to Brunei after participating in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Welcoming the national delegation at Brunei International Airport and presenting them with sashes and congratulations were the Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Hajah Hasnah, along with several senior officials from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The welcome ceremony began with Sarhan reciting the first chapter of the Quran and a "prayer for peace." Afterwards, congratulations were extended to the delegation, and the event concluded with a group photo.
Brunei's national karate athletes achieved notable success in this edition of the games, winning two bronze medals: Awangku Ahmad Munib Aiman bin Pengiran Haji Md Hasimudin secured a bronze medal in the Men's Kumite -55kg category; 55996 SLD (U) Muhammad Harith bin Dahlan won a bronze medal in the Men's Kumite -60kg category.
