(Miri, 10th) Miri Member of Parliament Chiew Choon Man stated that the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) Public Dialogue is an important platform for the government to listen to public voices, promote development, and enhance the well-being of the people, as well as to further close the distance between the government and the people.
“Thank you for choosing Miri as one of the discussion stops, so that valuable opinions and suggestions can be directly collected from the people of Sarawak, especially the Miri community.
As far as I know, the INPUMA team will continue to hold a similar dialogue in Kuching tomorrow.”
He pointed out that this research was commissioned by the Ministry of Economy and is being carried out by the INPUMA team under the leadership of Dr. Anis. He had followed their research results through media reports, and found the content quite impressive; public participation in such dialogues is truly a constructive and effective way to gather public opinion, helping the Madani government to extensively absorb views from all levels of society.
“As an elected representative, I deeply understand the people’s aspirations for a high quality of life. The government has always been willing to listen to the voices of the people to develop policies that meet their needs. Introducing people-oriented policies and programs is a continuous and dynamic process, which is why such public participation is necessary.”
Chiew Choon Man noted that the Madani government, led by Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, always maintains an open attitude and is willing to accept public opinion, reiterating this point when tabling the 13th Malaysia Plan in July this year.
He emphasized that the 13th Malaysia Plan covers a number of policies and measures to improve the socioeconomic status and quality of life of the people, and is crucial to the country’s overall development. The previous 12 Malaysia Plans have laid a solid foundation, and the government’s decision to continue launching more plans shows the Madani government’s concern for the people.
“I am confident that the 13th Malaysia Plan will carry on this momentum. Therefore, I especially thank the INPUMA research team for visiting Miri to listen to the voices of the people, and I also call on everyone to actively provide constructive opinions to help formulate practical policies that solve people’s livelihood issues.”
He also thanked all attendees for ensuring the smooth running of the event, and once again expressed his gratitude to Dr. Anis and the INPUMA team, hoping that everyone can work hand in hand to implement the 13th Malaysia Plan.
