(Lawas, 10th) — An 80-year-old man is suspected to have been attacked by a crocodile yesterday (9th) while bathing by the river near his home in Kampung Siang-Siang Laut, Lawas, Trusan.
The Lawas Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call at 6:48 pm and immediately dispatched firefighters to the scene.
According to reports, the elderly man did not return home, and his family could only find his towel and slippers on the wooden platform by the river.
Villagers immediately used boats to search along the river, but as of now, the man has not been found.
An official search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched this morning.
