(Seria, 2nd) Chung Ching Secondary School in Seria recently held a seminar titled “Preventing Online Scams and Internet Fraud” at the school’s Jubilee Hall to raise awareness in the campus community about online scam prevention. The event mainly targeted parents, guardians, and lower grade students, attracting about 100 attendees.
With online scam cases continuously rising in Brunei, the school proactively contacted the Royal Brunei Police Headquarters to invite professionals specializing in internet scam cases to give a talk to both teachers, students, and parents. The school authority stated that enhancing the ability to recognize online scams and raising vigilance have become key aspects of today’s digital security education.
The seminar ran from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the main speaker dispatched by the Royal Brunei Police Headquarters. The topics covered included common online scam methods, case analysis, personal information protection, and response measures, all delivered in an accessible and thorough way.
