Promoting Chinese Culture: Liu Jiujian Talks About Unity and Inheritance

(Miri, 20th) Lianlu Secondary School Joint Chairman Dato Sri Liu Jiujian stated that Chinese culture has a long and rich heritage, and the spirit of unity among the Chinese people has taken root and flourished in Malaysia, serving as the best embodiment of unity and inheritance.
In his speech at last night’s opening ceremony of the "Rising Bear Star 15" cultural gala held at the Miri Civic Center, he pointed out that Chinese culture in Malaysia has a history of over a hundred years and is thriving, setting an example for the world—a success that could not have been achieved without the strong support of the Sarawak government.
"The Sarawak government continues to allocate funding each year to support the development of Chinese independent secondary schools in the state. This year, the total grant reached 10 million ringgit, and the government has also recognized the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) of independent Chinese schools. This affirms the importance of Chinese education and stands as a model for multicultural harmony."

He emphasized that peace and prosperity in the nation are not a given, but rather a result of strong leadership and unity among the people. He also thanked parents for supporting their children’s participation in the event, giving them the chance to learn and grow through the sweat of hard work.
“To promote Chinese education on an international level, we must not only value mother tongue education but also raise our English proficiency. While connecting with the world, we must love our nation and inherit Chinese culture.”
Liu Jiujian stated that Lianlu Secondary School will be investing RM 50 million to build the Lianlu International School in Miri North City, located at Kuarabanan Jepak Road. Construction is expected to begin in September or October this year. In the future, this will provide students with a higher quality, more internationalized educational platform, nurturing future talents to walk onto the world stage.
He believes that as long as there is love and perseverance, Chinese education will only get better and stronger.
