The sound of firecrackers rings out and dazzling lanterns light up as Singapore's Chinatown officially begins the countdown to welcome the Year of the Horse.
On the evening of the 30th, Chinatown was abuzz with excitement as the Spring Festival lighting ceremony and opening celebration were grandly held at Chinatown Square.
This year’s Spring Festival lighting, themed "Galloping Horses Herald the New Spring," features ingenious lantern designs to create a festive atmosphere for the Year of the Horse. The biggest highlight is a golden horse standing 8.8 meters tall, located at the upper stretch of New Bridge Road and Cross Street. This horse symbolizes energy, dreams, and progress. Its design incorporates traditional Chinese papercutting art, displaying vivid patterns under the lighting.
