A 28-year-old man, who works with his sister, went to Cambodia without informing his family and is suspected to have fallen into the hands of a telecom scam syndicate. He was even transferred to 4 different locations before secretly asking his family for help after a month.

The man, Ah Hao, is from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. According to his 54-year-old father surnamed Li, his son went missing after going out on December 27 last year. His sister later checked with the immigration department and confirmed that he had left the country for Cambodia on December 29.

Ah Hao's father hopes his son can return home before Lunar New Year, so the family can reunite.
The victim, who works as a bus driver in Singapore, said that his son once told the family that he was in Poipet, and had previously been transferred to four different locations, where he was guarded by armed men.

He stated this at a press conference on Saturday, accompanied by Dato' Hisham, Secretary General of the Malaysian Humanitarian Organization (MHO), and members Lim Han Seng and Yin Zi Yuan.

The victim appealed to the authorities to help arrange for his son's return to Malaysia, hoping the son could reunite with the family before the Lunar New Year.

Hisham stated that the authorities would submit the information to Cambodia's Ministry of Interior (MOI) and the local Malaysian police task force to seek cross-border cooperation and help the victim to be rescued and return home.
