(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) — In order to pass on outstanding Chinese traditional culture, deepen alumni friendship, and promote interaction among members, the Wen Chung Alumni Association held a Mid-Autumn Festival gathering at its clubhouse last night. Nearly fifty committee members, members, and their families enthusiastically participated, joyfully celebrating the festival together in a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
The Wen Chung Alumni Association had not held an in-person event at its clubhouse for a long time, so this Mid-Autumn gathering was especially meaningful to the members. Although modest in scale, the event won hearts with its sincerity and camaraderie.
That evening, Honorary President Mr. Zeng Ruizhi, Honorary Advisor Mr. Lin Wenhua, committee members and association members gathered around to exchange and connect. Without elaborate ceremonies or formality, the event was filled with the warmth of “home” and human kindness. Laughter and conversation intermingled, the interactions were natural and harmonious, as if alumni were reliving and continuing the friendships of their student days—fully embodying the spirit of “Wen Chung people are one family” and the tradition of unity and mutual support.
The event was opened by Alumni Association President Mr. Lin Weifa delivering the welcoming remarks. Afterwards, a lantern lighting ceremony—symbolizing reunion and cultural inheritance—was held. In the soft glow of lanterns, all present jointly wished for family happiness, social harmony, and lasting alumni ties.
To add to the festive atmosphere, a series of fun games and interactive sessions were arranged, creatively designed. Traditional elements such as lantern riddles tested participants’ wisdom and reactions, while “Blindfolded Lantern Assembly,” which required one person to operate under a blindfold guided verbally by a partner, tested teamwork and trust. The playful “Musical Passing the Moon” brought laughter to the room, and the “Blindfolded Bean Sorting Challenge” encouraged participants to focus and be patient. These activities not only created a lively mood, but also brought members closer together, helping to establish stronger bonds through interaction and showcasing team spirit and a friendly atmosphere.
The event concluded successfully in a warm atmosphere of sharing mooncakes and festive delicacies. Attendees remarked that the event not only allowed everyone to appreciate the cultural depth of the Mid-Autumn Festival, but also further strengthened their sense of belonging and unity as Wen Chung alumni. Everyone looks forward to more meaningful activities in the future, uniting alumni strength to give back to society together.
Meanwhile, Organizing Committee Chairman Mr. Lin Mingzhang shared that seeing committee members, members, and their families gathered together with nonstop laughter deeply moved him. He believes this was not just a festive gathering, but also a demonstration of the Alumni Association’s cohesion and its warm, humanistic spirit, allowing every alum to tangibly feel the warmth and belonging of “home.”
He emphasized that the Alumni Association should serve as a warm spiritual home, where alumni can support each other and grow together amid both joy and challenges. President Lin stated that the Association will continue to hold cultural, educational, and public welfare activities in the future, to further pass on the Wen Chung spirit and promote positive interaction between alumni and society.
