(Bandar Seri Begawan, May 6) To foster environmental awareness among young children, Hong Hua School organized a series of engaging and educational nature-themed activities on Earth Day, April 22. These activities aimed to immerse children in the principles of environmental protection through a multi-sensory approach, embedding these concepts into their hearts.

The highlight of the event was a fun recycling workshop. Using sorting bins sponsored by Kawan Bumi Co., the school turned them into effective teaching tools. Under the guidance of teachers, children transformed into little environmental warriors, eagerly sorting recyclable items like paper and plastic. Through hands-on participation, they gained a deeper understanding of the idea that "small actions can make a big impact on the planet."

The "Save the Ocean" water play class revolved around the theme of "Protecting the Blue." In this creative and experiential session, students learned about the threats faced by marine life while enjoying playful water activities. Amid splashing water and laughter, the seeds of marine conservation awareness quietly took root.

The barefoot sensory experience was a unique feature of the "Feeling the Earth" activity. Children removed their shoes and socks to walk over pebbled paths, lush lawns, and soft sand. The diverse textures underfoot became vivid teaching materials, allowing the children to feel the warmth and rhythm of Mother Earth firsthand.

The grand finale, a creative eco-art class, brought the entire event to its peak. In the classroom, leaves became paintbrushes, and waste paper transformed into rainbows. Using recycled materials and natural elements, the children created whimsical gifts for the planet, expressing their love for Earth through their artistic creations.

CEO and Chairperson Ly Shiyun, who participated throughout the event, remarked, "Environmental education should start at a young age. Through immersive multi-sensory experiences, we plant seeds of responsibility and care in children's hearts. This approach is far more impactful than mere lectures."

As a pioneer of ecological education, Hong Hua School will continue to integrate environmental concepts into its daily curriculum. By offering ongoing environmentally themed lessons and practical activities, the school aims to nurture a new generation of global citizens who are conscious of their responsibilities to the planet.

A variety of eco-friendly and environmental activities inspire children’s love for the planet.
