The tournament was grandly held in Fuzhou, attracting enthusiastic participation from Fuzhou compatriots worldwide. Participants competed and made friends through golf, fully demonstrating the unity and vitality of Fuzhou's sons and daughters. The award ceremony banquet was held last night at the prestigious Yu Shan Hotel in Fuzhou, graciously hosted by Mr. Lin Gaoxing, Chairman of the Fuzhou Overseas Chinese Federation, creating a lively atmosphere filled with a strong sense of hometown affection.
At the banquet, Dato’ Dr. Wu Biaosheng, founding president and supervisor of the World Fuzhou Ten Counties Association Youth League, was invited to deliver a speech. He expressed his immense warmth and emotion at being able to gather on such a wonderful evening with compatriots from around the world to reminisce about hometown ties and discuss development together. On behalf of the World Fuzhou Youth League, he conveyed heartfelt thanks to the Fuzhou Overseas Chinese Federation for their enthusiastic hospitality and meticulous arrangements.
Wu Biaosheng pointed out that the 'World United, Fuzhou Connects Five Continents' golf friendship tournament was not only a sports exchange event but also an important gathering to unite people's hearts and pass on friendships. Fuzhou compatriots from all corners of the globe made friends through golf and emotions, showcasing the unity, endeavor, and tenacious spirit of Minnan people.
He said: “Fuzhou is our common root and an important birthplace of Min culture. No matter how far we travel, our concern for our hometown always remains. The diligence, perseverance, and loyalty of the people of Min are not only our spiritual support as we strive and establish ourselves overseas, but also the cultural link that connects us with our homeland by blood.”
Wu Biaosheng emphasized that tonight's banquet was not just an emotional gathering, but a cultural exchange as well. Culture is the softest, yet most tenacious force connecting the world. Through the bridge provided by the Overseas Chinese Federation, overseas Fuzhou compatriots witness the continuity of hometown culture and also feel the open, inclusive, and confident spirit of Fuzhou in the new era.
He looks forward to the World Fuzhou Youth League working hand in hand with the Fuzhou Overseas Chinese Federation in the future, expanding cooperation in the fields of culture, education, youth exchange, and economic and trade, allowing the 'Fuzhou Spirit' and 'Min Culture' to continue to shine around the world.
