(Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st) Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) has delivered an outstanding performance in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), successfully making it into the world’s top 400 and demonstrating its increasing influence in the international higher education arena.
According to the official rankings released on July 10, the university was placed 201st overall out of 1,253 institutions from 87 countries, ranking among the world's leading universities.
Out of 16 evaluated categories, UNISSA stood out particularly in “Technology Development & Application,” achieving 3rd place globally; it ranked 19th in “Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Trend” and 28th in “Empowering Management.”
This year, WURI assessed a total of 4,866 innovative projects worldwide. Several of UNISSA's projects were successfully selected, reflecting its ongoing commitment to advancing forward-looking education and research, as well as highlighting the university’s unique blend of Islamic values and modern scholarship.
This recognition not only significantly boosts UNISSA's international profile, but also places it on par with renowned institutions such as Nanyang Technological University, University of Manchester, and Western Sydney University on the international education stage.
